PMEGP is a credit-linked programme for eligible new micro-enterprises. It combines beneficiary contribution, bank finance and margin-money support subject to current programme rules. Margin money is not cash handed to the applicant at the beginning and is subject to lock-in, verification and adjustment conditions.
Preparation
1. Confirm the proposed unit is new and that the applicant and activity meet current rules.
2. Prepare project cost, quotations, location, employment, promoter contribution, projected sales and repayment capacity.
3. Collect identity, category, education, rural-area and other evidence where relevant.
Application steps
1. Use the official PMEGP e-portal linked by KVIC.
2. Register and complete applicant, project, activity, financing and preferred-agency information.
3. Upload the project report and requested evidence.
4. Track scrutiny and complete required entrepreneurship-development training when applicable.
5. Cooperate with bank appraisal, site and document verification.
6. Deposit beneficiary contribution and complete sanction conditions.
7. After disbursement, establish the unit, retain invoices and cooperate with physical verification.
Do not start by assuming the subsidy percentage is immediately available cash. Confirm admissible project cost, own contribution, margin-money treatment and bank loan terms.
